Shelly is one of the best teachers in New England, online and in the studio! I particularly love her small ball workout on Fitstream. As a fellow instructor, I learn something new every time I do it. My abdominals feel the workout for 1-2 days post workout and it feels so good!

"Melting is Marvelous! Thank you for introducing me to the Melt Method. Like my American Express Card, I never leave home without my little bag of Melt Balls. This simple self directed treatment has provided me with relief from an aching back, stiff neck, sore shoulder or tightness in my fingers and hands. During my many "snow shoveling" sessions this winter, I found that if I "melted" after shoveling, back pain and general aches just melted away. It's simple to do and as an amazing way to take control of my body! Love it, Love it, Love it! "

"Learning and using the MELT method has been an incredible experience for me during the past three years. Working in a high-stress environment that had me sitting in meetings or at a desk for the entire day resulted in an almost constant level of neck, shoulder and back tension/pain. Trying to squeeze in massages and chiropractor visits was almost impossible given my time was completely drained by family commitments and work responsibilities. As my Pilates instructor, Shelly was very aware that pain was impacting my ability to perform several exercises and introduced me to the hand and foot treatment. I was apprehensive at first, but was quickly amazed at how my body reacted to the hand and foot treatment and then to the full body roller treatments. Almost three years later, the constant pain/tension is gone and on the few occasions when I do get some tension, I am able to get rid of the stuck stress quickly using MELT treatment techniques. Thanks to MELT I am living a virtually pain-free life!
Shelly is an incredible MELT instructor. She has an amazing technique in which she teaches both the physical aspects of the treatments and the science behind what my body is experiencing and how the MELT movements are helping to release stuck stress. Shelly challenges me to keep focused on performing the movements correctly and is very quick to interject if adjustments are needed. Additionally, Shelly assessment of which MELT map to use in my sessions is always spot on. I continue to be impressed with Shelly's drive to stay current on MELT techniques and am fortunate to now be in the midst of learning MELT strength. Given her amazing teaching techniques, her dedication to continuous learning and her desire to help clients live their best lives, Shelly will be an amazing instructor. "

"Shelly came into my life over nine years ago at the suggestion of my spinal surgeon. Prior to that time I struggled with a body that was not capable of supporting my passions and activities as I had enjoyed them. The feeling of physical instability and chronic pain was debilitating and depressing.
Shelly has physically and mentally restored my body’s ability and my spirit to preserver through multiple continued surgical procedures and continues to look forward to an active and happy life.
I cannot possible explain what it means to me to have in this young woman in my life. With her experience, passion but most of all concern. Shelly has given me my life back."

"I have been a Chiropractor for over 17 years and I have always understood the necessity of treating the soft tissues in addition to the joints of the body. Breaking up muscle knots (aka: trigger points) and adhesions as well as stretching all the soft tissues is necessary and beneficial for long term well being.
The problem is finding a technique that patients can do by themselves, at home on a consistent basis. Consistency is key, however, most people cannot afford to go for a massage or to their Chiropractor 3-5 times a week to have these techniques performed on them so ultimately they walk around tight and in chronic pain.
I was introduced to the Melt technique by my wife who is a licensed Massage Therapist.
Her enthusiasm for the simplicity enticed me to attend an introductory class offered by Shelly at Renew.calm this past weekend.
I found Shelly to be confident, enthusiastic and extremely well educated on the subject of soft tissue disorders that lead to chronic pain. Her introduction to the Melt technique was easy to grasp and the hands on training was extremely helpful. The roller and ball techniques used are simple in design and with her guidance and a little practice, I feel most people can grasp the concept and more importantly the ability to perform this technique easily and comfortably at home.
The Melt technique helped to loosen tight areas in my back which I have not been able to target with any other home based method. I found it comfortable, easy and very effective. It is definitely a soft tissue treatment I will continue to use myself at home to address my chronic muscle aches and pains, and it is a technique I would definitely recommend to my patients in the future."
